This is a Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) transaction meaning that the transaction conversion was done at the merchant’s end. Typically, with these transactions, the bank incurs some losses as the amount the cardholder is debited is less than the amount that is sent for settlement by the card scheme which is usually in dollars instead of Naira. Consequently, the system automatically applies a markup.
