Mr. Ernest C. Ebi attended Howard University, Washington D.C U.S.A. where he graduated with a BBA in Marketing in 1978 and an MBA in 1979. Mr. Ebi started his Banking career in 1978 at the Community Federal Savings and Loan Association, Washington D.C U.S.A where he held the position of Assistant Vice President / Controller.

In November 1981, he returned to Nigeria and joined the International Merchant Bank (IMB) Plc, served in various capacities including heading the Treasury Department and becoming the Chief Credit Officer of the bank from June 1989 to January 1992. From January 1992 to June 1993, he was the Head of Audit and Risk Management Department.

In a very distinguished career within the financial services industry, Mr. Ebi went on to serve in leadership positions in notable banking sector organizations like

• African Continental Bank Plc – Executive Director, Corporate Banking (Sept 1993 – March 1995)
• New Nigerian Bank Plc – Managing Director / CEO (March 1995 – January 1998)
• Diamond Bank Plc – Deputy Managing Director (January 1998 – June 1999)

In June 1999, Mr. Ebi was appointed Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria where his tenure crossed two key portfolios of the Apex bank over a 10 year period; namely-

• Central Bank of Nigeria – Deputy Governor, Policy (June 1999 – August 2004)
• Central Bank of Nigeria – Deputy Governor, Corporate Services
(August 2004 – June 2009)

During this period, Mr. Ebi maintained oversight functions over Nigeria’s External reserves, International Economic Relations, Trade & Exchange and Research Departments among other responsibilities. He was a key member of the banking sector reform team especially the consolidation of Banks in 2006 and was Chairman of the implementation Committee of the Legendry Project EAGLES that transformed Central Bank of Nigeria to a leading Global Reserve Bank.

Mr. Ebi has excellent leadership skills and has successfully led high profile turn around initiatives for challenged organizations.

It is in recognition of his sound professional background and track record of meritorious service that the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2007 awarded him the National Honours of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR). In the same year, the Chartered Institute of Bankers also awarded him a Fellow of the Institute (FCIB).

Mr. Ebi served on several Presidential Committees namely;
• Member Presidential Committee on the Consolidation of Emoluments in public Sector. (2006-2007)
• Member Presidential Committee on Rural Transportation – 2004
• Member, Federal Government Task Force on Corporate Governance and Control in NNPC and other parastatals within the Ministry of Petroleum Resources – (January – August 2012)

Mr. Ebi has attended many high profile leadership courses / programs at IMD Switzerland, Harvard, Oxford and Brandeis Universities etc.

NNAMDI J. OKONKWOManaging Director/CEO
Mr. Okonkwo assumed duties as Managing Director/CEO with effect from January 2014.Until his appointment as the MD/CEO he was the Executive Director in charge of South Directorate of the bank. He holds a B.Sc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Benin and an MBA, Banking and Finance from Enugu State University. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) of INSEAD and has also attended other senior-level programmes at world renowned institutions. Before joining Fidelity, Okonkwo was the Head of the Corporate Banking Directorate in (UBA) and had at various times been the MD&CEO of UBA, Ghana and the Regional Chief Executive Officer of all UBA Subsidiaries in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone and comes with over 25 years experience in various areas of banking.
MOHAMMED BALARABEDeputy Managing Director
Mr. Mohammed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Finance from Nottingham Trent University, UK, as well as an M.Sc. in Finance from the University of Lagos. A dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 1992, Mohammed was an Executive Director with the former Oceanic Bank Plc. He was also a General Manager in United Bank for Africa (UBA) and had been the General Manager & Chief Executive of Newdevco Finance Services Company Limited. He has over 24 years banking experience across business portfolios in banking. He was appointed to the Board in April, 2012.
Mrs. Ugochukwu was General Manager, Legal Services and Company Secretary of the bank. She holds an LLB (Hons.) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from IESE, Barcelona, Spain. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Nigeria and has more than 21 years Industry experience. At various points, Mrs. Ugochukwu had been in Operations, Treasury Management and Corporate Services functions. She is a regular speaker on Ethics, Personal Financial Planning and Wealth Preservation. She was appointed to the Board in April, 2012.
AKU P. ODINKEMELUExecutive Director
Mrs. Aku Odinkemelu holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1986) and Barrister at Law (BL) degree from the Nigerian Law School (1987) Lagos. She is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from Harvard Business School (2008). Mrs. Odinkemelu has also served as a Non-Executive Director in Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Sierra Leone and Guaranty Trust Assurance Plc. She had worked with Access Bank Plc, former Equitorial Trust Bank Limited and Continental Merchant Bank Plc and comes with over 25 years’ experience in various areas of banking. She was appointed to the Board in August 2014 as Executive Director, South.
Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe is the Executive Director for the Lagos and Southwest Directorate consisting nine (9) regions. She has over 27 years industry experience in various departments including Legal, Treasury, Investment Banking, Retail/Commercial Banking, and Corporate Banking. She has been involved in the structuring of complex transactions in Oil & Gas Downstream, Manufacturing, Aviation, Real Estate, Export etc. Her banking career also cuts across several banks namely Enterprise Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Zenith International Bank Plc, Citizens International Bank Ltd and others. She was an Executive Director at Enterprise Bank Plc overseeing the Lagos and Southwest Region of the bank where she received recommendation from AMCON as member of the Management team that successfully restructured and turned around Enterprise Bank. Nneka holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Kings College, London, respectively. She has attended several executive training programs at Harvard Business School, Wharton, INSEAD, Chicago Booth School of Business, and Lagos Business School. She was appointed to the Board of Fidelity bank plc on July 2, 2015.
Mr. Nnana-Kalu holds an M.A. in International Relations as well as Bachelor of Laws from University of Kent, at Canterbury, Kent England. He also obtained a Master of Laws from Kings College University of London, England. He practiced law in the firm of Chief K.K. Ogba Chambers, Owerri, before joining star Paper Mills Ltd, Aba, as Manager, Legal Services & Corporate Affairs. He rose to the position of Executive Director in the company in 1995 a position he holds till date. From 2001 to 2005, Mr Nnanna-Kalu was the Chairman of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Imo/Abia Chapter, as well as a National Council member of the association. He has travelled extensively in Nigeria and overseas. He joined the Board of Fidelity Bank, July 2012.
Kings C. Akuma currently heads the Non-Oil & Gas business of ALCON Nigeria Limited, a major player in the oil, gas and power sector. Prior to joining ALCON, he was the Managing Director of Hammakopp Consortium Limited, an affiliate of Nestoil Group Plc. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Akuma is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and is regarded by peers and contemporaries as a thoroughbred strategic change management specialist with core competence in organisational structure and financial due diligence review. Akuma has over three decades of in-depth understanding of banking/finance operations, consulting, manufacturing, due diligence and forensic accounting and has coordinated comprehensive financial due diligence on several banks. He joined the Board of Fidelity Bank on November 25, 2016.
Mr. Michael E. Okeke holds a B.Sc in Estate Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. He also holds an MBA in Business Administration from the Metropolitan School of Business & Management, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loan & Risk Management of Nigeria, and a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors&Valuers (NIESV).
A proficient Estate Surveyor &Valuer with professional specialization in property valuation, project finance, procurements, syndicated asset management, valuation of aviation and navigation installations including aircraft, ships and vessels. He is currently the Managing Partner of Sun Oriala& Co, an estate management Firm. He joined the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc. with effect from October 23rd, 2014.
Mr. Alex C. Ojukwu has over 25 years’ experience in diverse fields which includes Banking Services, Controls & Audit, Marketing, Power, Mining, Steel, Risk and Manufacturing. He joined Fidelity Bank Plc as a Non-Executive Director with effect from October 23, 2014. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Ogun State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB), an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and a Member of the Institute of Risk Management. He is currently the Managing Director of Afro Asia Automobile & Plastics Limited (2011 – Date), a member of the Chicason Group. He was the Executive Director, Risk Management, Western Goldfields Group Limited and also the founder and Managing Partner of Damos Practice – Risk Management Consultants, after having left the services of Bank PHB Plc (now Keystone Bank Limited) as Assistant Vice President in charge of Remedial Assets Management.
Seni Adetu brings to the Board over 30 years of private sector experience garnered at the highest levels with John Holt Plc, Coca-Cola International and Diageo/Guinness Plc in different countries within and outside Africa. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and Masters in Business Administration (with specialisation in Marketing), both from the University of Lagos. He was at various times Managing Director of Coca-Cola English West Africa based in Ghana; the first African MD/CEO and Executive Vice Chairman of Guinness Ghana Plc; Group MD/CEO Diageo East Africa based in Kenya and until December 2014, MD/CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc and Executive Chairman Diageo Brands Nigeria. He has considerable expertise in commercial, financial and governance practices. A great marketer renowned for championing innovation in the FMCG’s, he was named Runner-up Forbes/CNBC Business Leader/CEO of the Year 2012 in East Africa. Adetu is the Founder/Group CEO of First Primus W.A. Limited, an upscale Integrated Marketing Communications company and also Founder and Group CEO of Algorithm Media Limited, a media specialist communications agency in Nigeria and affiliate of GroupM, one of the largest media networks in the world. He is a Leadership Coach and facilitates on the Chief Executive Program of the Lagos Business School (LBS).
Mr. Charles Chidebe Umolu, presently a Managing Consultant with Corimol Nigeria Limited and a Chief Executive with Corimol Consulting Limited has over 18 years cognate experience in banking. He was trained as a banker by Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York (USA). He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (1973 – 1977) from the University of Ife, Ile-life. Umolu also bagged an MBA (1978 – 1979) from the same institution. His successive academic records earned him a National Scholarship in 1974 and a University Scholarship in 1975 where he obtained a distinction in Economics from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife. Major training programmes Charles attended include: Global Strategic Management, Harvard Business School (June 21-26, 2015); Directors Consortium, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business (October 6-1O, 2014); Finance for Executive Programme, Columbia Business School, New York (April 2013); High Impact Leadership Programme, Columbia Business School, New York, December 2-7, 2012, amongst others.
Mr. Charles has served on the board of various organizations as an Executive Director and a Non-Executive Director. He currently serves on the board of Profound Securities Limited – a subsidiary of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). He was the Managing Director/CEO of Comet Merchant Bank Limited (1995-1997) a position he held until he resigned to join Corimol Nigeria Limited.
